The residents of Durali village in Mohali have announced a complete ban on entry of GMADA and Govt Officials.
The villagers allege unfair treatment and ignoring of their concerns related to industry zones being set in sector 101, 103 without accessing long term environmental impact of industries on residents of nearby villages.
As per Puadh Insaaf Morcha their demand is to convert the existing 249 acres acquired to residential zone and withdrawal of notices for land acquisition sent by GMADA and PUDA on immediate basis.
It must be noted that 249 acres of land had already been acquired by GMADA in sector 101 and now notices for another 129 acres in sector 101 and 141 acres of land in sector 103 have been sent.
Led by Puadh Insaaf Morcha leaders: Makhan Singh Gigemajra, Kamaljit Singh Badi, Malkit Singh Durali, Jagdeep Singh, Ranveer Singh, Gurmeet Singh (all Panches). The Leaders allege that all their efforts to get their issues heard by GMADA and Govt officials have fallen on deaf years.
They also claimed that they wanted to meet Punjab Chief Minister: Bhagwant Singh Mann who had come for Lok Milni in Saneta, but were not allowed to enter the venue.
The villagers also allege that no help was extended for this cause from local MLA Kulwant Singh, so they had to resort to this extreme step to get their voices heard. The Villagers have also decided to chalk up a strategy to stop land acquisition of village land for industrial purpose.
